Synopsis
It remains a crime that largely flies under the radar: chemical submission. It involves the administration of psychoactive substances—either without the victim’s knowledge or under threat—for the purpose of committing a crime or misdemeanor. In nine out of ten cases, the victim is a woman, and seventy percent of these women will suffer sexual violence. GHB is far from the only date‑rape drug used by perpetrators.
This documentary offers an intimate, deeply personal exploration of chemical submission through the eyes of director Charlotte Espel, who herself is a survivor.
