Summary

Every year for more than 25 years, the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science International Award has honored five women scientists from five regions of the world.
Since 2019, 10.7 has been working with the L’Oréal Foundation to create portraits of these exceptional women from across the globe.

Prof. Priscilla Baker – University of the Western Cape, South Africa

Awarded for her outstanding contribution to the development of highly sensitive electrochemical microsensors, with applications in the fields of health, energy, pharmaceuticals, and agri-food.

Prof. Claudia Felser Max Planck Institute, Germany

Honored for her unique contribution at the intersection of mathematics, physics, and chemistry, which led to the discovery and creation of promising new magnetic materials for tomorrow’s energy technologies.

Professor Xiaoyun Wang – Tsinghua University, China

Recognized for her contributions to cryptography and its mathematical foundations, she has uncovered major flaws in communication protocols, particularly in the production of digital fingerprints.
