Summary

For the third year in a row, 10.7 will produce the photo and video campaign for the scientific event of the year, which rewards the top 5 female researchers on the planet. They live in Beirut, Paris, Tokyo, North Carolina, Argentina. They are – above all – exceptional women. In 2019, they received the L’Oréal-Unesco International Prize for Women in Science.

Prof. Nada Jabado – McGill University & RI-MUHC, Canada

Honored for revolutionizing the understanding of genetic alterations responsible for aggressive pediatric brain tumors, particularly through the discovery of the first histone mutations (known as “oncohistones”) in humans, and for founding an international collaborative network that has transformed the diagnosis and treatment of children with cancer.

Prof. Rose Leke – University of Yaoundé, Cameroon

Recognized for her outstanding research and innovative efforts to improve the study of malaria in pregnant women, support the eradication of polio, and enable better vaccination in Africa, as well as for her commitment to promoting the professional development of young scientists.

Prof. Nieng Yan – Tsinghua University, China

Awarded for discovering the atomic structure of several membrane proteins that transport ions and sugars across cell membranes, revealing the principles of transmembrane transport and shedding light on the understanding of conditions such as epilepsy, arrhythmia, and chronic pain.
