Summary

The documentary “Anatomy of a fall, the rise of Justine Triet” explores the making of the latest Palme d’Or winner, “Anatomie d’une chute”, through discussions with Justine Triet, Arthur Harari, Sandra Huller, Swann Arlaud, Antoine Reinartz, Milo Machado-Graner, Jehnny Beth, David Thion, Marie-Ange Luciani and the film’s technical team: Laurent Sénéchal (editor), Olivier Goinard (mixer), Julien Sicart (sound engineer), Fanny Martin (sound editor) and Jeanne Delplancq (sound editor). How did the shooting of the fight scene go? Which scenes had to be cut, and which was the most complex to shoot? How did the actors prepare? How was the script written? From the initial inspirations to the development of the screenplay, via the collaboration with lawyer Vincent Courcelle-Labrousse, the meticulous preparation of the actors, the shooting, editing and mixing: Justine Triet and her collaborators answer all these “cinema” questions and give us a detailed genesis of their film.

Based on these conversations, this document explores Justine Triet’s artistic approach to the film “Anatomie d’une chute”, the singular dramaturgy she has developed, and the way she subtly integrates elements of contemporary reality into her films, avoiding the trap of the thesis film.
